Hello lovely Book Queens! It’s time for our next book club on Monday, July 14 at 8.30pm (AEST). See below for the Zoom link. It will also stream live in our Facebook group.
The Radio Hour by Victoria Purman
We are so excited about our July guest. Victoria Purman is one of Australia’s best loved historical fiction writers, with bestselling novels such as The Land Girls and The Women’s Pages.
Her latest novel, The Radio Hour is a charming, funny, pointed look at the golden years of radio broadcasting in post-war Australia, celebrating the extraordinary unseen women who wrote the radio plays that held a nation captive. We can’t wait to discuss it with her.
DURING THE EVENT
The event will be held via Zoom. The link is below.
Don’t worry, your screen won’t be seen, however if it makes you more comfortable, just turn your screen off.
Please turn your sound off.
It will also stream live on our Facebook group.
We encourage you to share your insights, questions, and thoughts about the book in the comments section.

WHAT BELINDA HAS BEEN UP TO
Belinda has had her head down working on the first edits for her new novel, The Italian Correspondent, to be published in 2026. She has also been gearing up for the formal release of the passion project she developed with her friend, Kelly Morton: The Feel Good Now Journal later this month. Jane and Belinda will be chatting about the journal on Sunday, August 3rd in the new book club segment ‘Soul Queens’ which we announced last week. But if you can’t wait to hear more about the journal and want to grab a copy right away, go to the website. $2.00 from every journal sold goes to animal charities – so you can do good while feeling good! (The gorgeous pink edition is available now with the other colours to follow later).
You can find out more about Belinda’s writing adventures in her newsletter Glamour Comes from the Word Grammar
She also has an inspirational, journal prompt newsletter The Intentionalist that she writes with designer Kelly Morton. So, if you are into zesty conscious living, be sure to subscribe.
WHAT JANE HAS BEEN UP TO
Jane has been in Bali, first up staring at the jungle in Ubud, and completely decompressing. Afterwards, she met two girlfriends for a week of fun which now means she needs another holiday. She’s about to dive back into her new novel, to try to make sense of it. Jane has a Substack called The Spiral where she posts about life, personal development and meditation.
INVITE YOUR FRIENDS
If you have been enjoying the Book Queens Book Club, we’d love you to invite your friends to join us. All you have to do is click on this link to send your invitation.
SOUL QUEENS
The first Sunday evening each month we will post a pre-recorded interview with a fabulous personal development or spiritual author. We’ll chat with them about their book and what we personally learned from it. We will also ask our guest to offer an exercise for you to practice over the coming month to boost your happiness and sparkle. We really hope this segment will uplift and inspire you. (Posting time will be 6pm AEST).
You don’t need to have read the book beforehand, but if a particular book ‘speaks to you’ then you might like to read it to obtain the full benefit.
Our books coming up are:
August 3: The Feel Good Now Journal by Belinda Alexandra and Kelly Morton
September 7: The Art of Forgiveness by Rachael Coopes
NEXT MONTH
For our August book club, we’re chatting to two authors, Kelly Gardiner and Sharmini Kumar, who co-wrote Miss Caroline Bingley Private Detective. We can’t wait!
Keep Monday, August 11, 8.30pm AEST free.
We love our vibrant community of Book Queens and look forward to seeing you there.
Love
Belinda and Jane xx
